Most Beautiful Wedding Dresses in the World

Whether you’re getting married in a few months or still looking for the right groom, you’re probably looking for the perfect wedding gown. To give you inspiration and help you make the right choice, we’ve listed some of the world’s most beautiful wedding dresses below:

Princess Diana’s iconic puffed-sleeve dress

Who would ever forget the gown that Princess Diana wore during her wedding? The dress was one of the most closely guarded secrets in the fashion world; designers David and Elizabeth Emmanuel even ripped up the sketch they made to prevent the dress’s design from leaking to the press. The gown featured 10,000 pearls and antique Carrickmacross lace that used to belong to Queen Mary, along with intricate hand embroidery.

Grace Kelly’s elegant lace gown

The Hollywood actress’s marriage to a real-life prince has delighted many people, along with the fact that Grace Kelly wore one of the most gorgeous wedding dresses of all time. Described as “serenely regal”, the gown featured a high collar, three petticoats, and lacy long sleeves and was made of tulle, silk net, peau de soie, and Brussels rose point lace that was 125 years old. It reportedly inspired the dress that Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, wore to her wedding.

Kate Middleton’s stunning Alexander McQueen gown

Speaking of Catherine, this list won’t be complete without the Duchess’s gorgeous wedding dress. It’s usually contrasted with Princess Diana’s wedding gown (which used handmade antique lace) but, even if Kate’s dress used machine-made lace, it still impressed many people and looked fantastic on the bride. Demand for elegant outfit (which featured a high collar, an ivory satin bodice, and a long full skirt) rose just hours after the royal wedding, and a lot of replica gowns were sold afterwards.

Princess Letizia’s unique high-collared dress

This gown stands out from the others because of the unique design of its train. Instead of using a separate piece of fabric for the train, couturier Manuel Pertegaz decided to let the natural silk fabric flow uninterrupted from the shoulders to the floor. The result is a one-of-a-kind gown that’s slim and sleek on the front and flows out to create a round train at the back that measures 15 feet long. The dress was paired with a silk tulle veil, diamond earrings, and the Prussian Diamond Tiara to complete Princess Letizia’s radiant-bride look.

Gwen Stefani’s ombre-pink wedding gown

A lot of brides have ditched the traditional wedding dress for more modern versions, but Gwen Stefani made the movement official with her pink-and-white outfit (which was designed by John Galliano). The upper half of the dress was quite conservative in style, but the lower half just screamed “Party!” with its hot pink ombre design. This eye-catching dip-dyed color scheme made the dress instantly iconic and will always be remembered by many.

Jessica Biel’s bold pink gown

Jessica seems to have taken Gwen Stefani’s idea and improved on it, proving that you don’t always have to wear white on your wedding. Her frothy pink gown (which was designed by Giambattista Valli) shocked some people but delighted most of her fans, who loved the dress’s strapless design as well as the volume created by the layers of delicate tulle. Jessica completed her outfit with a floor-length veil, which was embellished with pearls that were taken from the tiara that her grandmother wore on her wedding day.

Ciara’s custom Roberto Cavalli dress

Fans of Ciara swooned over her romantic Liverpool wedding to NFL player Russell Wilson, but even more swooned over her Roberto Cavalli wedding gown. Designed by Peter Dundas, the dress featured embroidery of elegant Italian baroque patterns mixed with whimsical patterns of butterflies, birds, and ears of wheat. The dress’s lacy sleeves were Dundas’s idea; he has admitted that he likes putting sleeves on wedding gowns since it places more emphasis on the bride’s neck and best. Considering how elegant Ciara look on her wedding day, it seems that Dundas is on the right track!

Kim Kardashian’s custom-made Givenchy gown

Kim is someone who likes to pull out all the stops no matter what she does, and she certainly went the whole nine yards with her wedding dress. Designed by Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy, the gown combined traditional wedding style with modern fashion with its long lace sleeves, long skirt, and strategically placed sheer panels that showed off the bride’s trademark curves.

Jennifer Lopez’s Valentino lace gown

J.Lo has worn several wedding dresses over the years; she put on a simple sheath dress on her first wedding, then a more formal gown to her marriage to Marc Antony. However, it was the outfit for her second wedding that has caught the eye of many: an off-white Vera Wang gown that was made of silk and Chantilly lace. The dress’s low-cut design (both in the front and back) contrasted nicely with its lace long sleeves.
