Nail care tips | DIY

The nicely manicured and healthy nails are very important for a woman. They are a sign that all men pay attention to, so you should always take care of them. But what happens if you can not do a manicure without the help of a specialist? What can you do on your own to keep them clean and wonderful? Follow the tips below and make your manicure look always perfect!

1) In the beginning you must file the nails, before soaking them and after you have removed the previous polish with acetone, always using a paper file and never a metal file. Particular care is needed for long nails, which should not be cut, because cutting can break them.

Also worth pointing out is that the correct way to file the nails is to do everything in one direction and keep the file at a 45 degree angle, not vertically, because the vertical application can make your nails peel off.

2) Then soak your hands in water and clean the surface of your nail cuticles, pushing inwards daily. By doing this your nails will slowly be cleaner and will look longer.

It is advisable to avoid cutting cuticles, because aside from the fact that you might not know the right technique and cause infections in your fingers, there is also danger to fully dehydrate your nails and cause them many problems. This is because the cuticles keep your nails moisturized and vibrant and cutting them the wrong way may remove the skin beneath your nails.

3) After you are done with your cuticles take a nail buffer and rub both the nail plate and the surrounding cuticles, so that the areas get smooth. Then have a hand scrub to soften the skin and make it even more smooth. Finish with a small amount of moisturizer and apply it well.

4) Even though you now want to paint your nails you will need to follow the golden rule to completely clean your nails before applying any nail polish. Grab a cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover and remove from the surface of your nails any trace of greasiness.

5) For painting the nails you should follow this procedure: a base coat, two coats of lacquer and a layer of top coat. But because the nail polish begins to wear out after 2-3 days, it is advisable to spread every now and then another layer of top coat to shield your favorite manicure.

Finally, if you want to make your nails look longer you should paint them while leaving a small margin at the bottom and the sides. In this way, the surface will look bigger and you will not risk a paint your skin. Also, be aware that dark colors tend to show nails shorter, while the lighter shades create the illusion that they are longer. So, choose nude shades or pink or beige and generally pastels.
