Meet the First Ever Size-22 Model to Score a Major Modeling Contract

We’ve all looked at fashion magazines since we were in high school, and all we could ever be after scanning through the colored pages is “envious.” And who wouldn’t be? Those size 0 to 2 models you see from cover to cover of every style magazine look gorgeous and angelic no matter what they were made to wear. That’s how majority of us perceive beauty as someone who looks like they’ve never eaten anything their entire lives.

Recently though, a size-22 model changed all that and caused quite a stir in the modeling world. Yes, you got that right – size 22.

Meet Tess Holliday, real name Tess Munster. Tess is the first ever plus-size model of her size and height to be signed up with a major modeling agency like MiLK.

UK-based MiLK Model Management said via Twitter they are “SOOO excited to announce we now represent #TessHolliday, plus-size model/blogger.”

She has been named as one of Vogue Italia’s top six plus-size models all over the world. She said that what happened to her is a dream come true.

The 29-year old tell PEOPLE, “It’s something that I’ve wanted my whole life, so to even think that it’s happened, it feels like an out-of-body experience.”

She also encourages others to take selfies and use this hashtag. This allowed Tess to have a huge following on her Instagram and Twitter accounts. MiLK is realizing the influence that Tess could have among her fans and even the industry.
