Do not touch anything when you go shopping
If you want to save money when you go shopping, follow the simple rule that you probably learned from an early age. Do not touch anything. This is because the touch of an object, either it’s a banana or a Ferrari, our brain plays games, which automatically gives us greater value of the items than there really worth!
This was revealed by a new study of the state of Ohio and University of Illinois, conducted to determine how much will pay 144 volunteers for an object before and after touching it. The object was a cheap cup of coffee, but a few seconds of contact with the volunteers they wanted to pay more for it. The worst part of it was that the longer the holding, the greater the value! Maybe because remote objects are not as familiar with the touch and we bond with them and want to get them, say researchers.
